The quaint little township of Clairview is located right on the Queensland coastline, about 120km south of Mackay. The park on the northern edge of town, with beach frontage, is a fantastic spot to stop for lunch and recharge before tackling the Bruce Highway again.
The waters around Clairview provide a protected sanctuary for Dugongs, an endangered herbivorous sea mammal.
Fun Fact: Clairview boasts the only ocean view from the Bruce Highway, between Bowen to the north and the Gold Coast to the south.
Fishing is the popular activity here with a good variety of fish on offer as well as mud crabs.
Barracrab Caravan Park provides a range of accommodation options for travellers, and we can highly recommend a stay here – we love the coastal vibe! We have overnighted here in an ensuited bungalow on our way to visit family in Townsville.
