Amazingly, Crows Nest Soft Drinks has been operating continuously since 1903! It has always been a family-owned business, currently by the 10th owners, Murray and Tanya Rosenberg. Gosh, we can remember back to a time when most small towns had their own ‘cordial’ factory – they were everywhere. Interestingly, Crows Nest Soft Drinks have a fantastic display of old bottles from a number of these old cordial factories, and we really enjoyed spotting some brands…

You’ll find the town of Surat on the Great Inland Way, around halfway between Roma and St George. It’s a great little town for a stopover if travelling in the region. There is free camping at Fisherman’s Park on the edge of town and a caravan park in town. We really enjoyed the walking path along the Balonne River, perfect after a day of travel. Cracow, Qld…Almost a Ghost Town
A visit to Cracow is certainly worth it if you are in the Theodore-Eidsvold area. We took a drive to this tiny town with its population of around 50 whilst staying in Theodore. We visit the small south-western town Yelarbon and thoroughly enjoy our stay at the Yelarbon Recreation Grounds. There’s much to see and enjoy in this little town!
