Porta Potti on the Nose? Here’s How to Service Your Thetford 145/165
Does your older Thetford 145/165 have an offensive odour? You can fix this with a few spare parts. Joe will show you how to replace the Vent Seal and Lip Seal. Whilst doing these repairs, he also replaced the Bellows Pump, which had a tiny leak.
Our Thetford Porta Potti has had lots of use over a six year period, however it is still is very good condition, so we were loathe to simply place it into landfill. A new model would cost us somewhere between $170-$230, but the service parts cost around $100 so we did save some cash. All in all, it was a fairly straightforward task and just involved a little time.
If you would like to find out how to carry out this service for yourself, you’ll find the video on our YouTube channel – https://youtu.be/HitdNLNREC4
