Jaffles at the campsite, with a hearty savoury mince filling that packs a little heat – what’s not to love! A fresh autumn day was just perfect for cooking up this hearty cowboy style savoury mince over the fire, then placing it between well-buttered bread slices in the jaffle irons.
Which jaffle iron do you think is the best – square or round? We both like the good old round ones which I guess are a childhood memory. Joe reckons he can get a little more filling in the round ones too.
If you cook this filling for your jaffles, don’t forget that it needs to be thick. I love to add gravox powder for a little extra taste, but also to thicken the mix. And don’t worry, if your mixture becomes too thick and dry, just add a little water
We are certain you will want to try these jaffles on your next camping trip, or even at home. Click on Files/Resources in the menu above to get your recipe sheet. And if you’d like to see how we make Cowboy Style Savoury Mince Jaffles head to our YouTube channel.
