The remnants of this historic rail line on Brisbane’s north-western outskirts evokes nostalgia of an era when steam trains chugged through scenic landscapes, leaving an indelible mark on Queensland’s history. Mt Glorious Subtropical Rainforest Walk, Qld
Mt Glorious is located just to the north-west of Brisbane in the D’Aguilar Range National Park. We took a walk to Greenes Falls and saw huge strangler figs, twisted roots, interesting fungi and a ‘land mullet’ – a large skink (lizard). The walk to the Falls was mostly downhill which was great until we realised it would be an uphill walk back to Maiala Day Use Area. We enjoyed our walk so much that we…

We’ve taken this camper to some amazing outback and remote locations in Queensland including Cape York Peninsula, Mount Isa and Gregory River, Kooroorinya…

We Lost the World’s Longest Fence
The Dingo Fence, or Wild Dog Barrier Fence as it is correctly called, starts in the north-east of Australia, between Jandowae and Jimbour in the Western Downs region of Queensland. It then makes it way through Queensland, western New South Wales and into South Australia, ending to the west of Eyre Peninsula. The fence was constructed to help prevent livestock loss from these predators. We really enjoyed driving approximately half of the 110km Dingo Fence…
